Ekhaya chose to celebrate those mothers who endured, praying, supporting and holding their kids whom they lost this day 50 yrs ago and those who still loose their kids through everyday struggles

While the City of Cape Town focuses on areas that suit them, our community is left to suffer.
Children are now cleaning the streets themselves because the City is failing to do so. That alone should be embarrassing.

For WEEKS, water has been flowing from a drain starting at house number 69, running down the street and settling in front of my Year-old mother’s home. This has been reported multiple times by Ny 141 residence and NO RESPONSE.

Now, to make matters worse, some houses including my Mom's ny 141-76 has been WITHOUT ELECTRICITY since Thursday, 30 April. No resolution. Nothing. Ben told there is a challenge at Gugulethu. What is that nonsense in this cold weather especially for children and elderly.

My mother is a loyal ratepayer. Is this how the City treats the elderly?

And yet we hear about “clean audits.” What does that even mean when communities are neglected like this?
