Not a bad way to spend a winter’s day.
Just an hour from Cape Town, Cape Canopy Tour offers a breathtaking zipline adventure through dramatic mountain landscapes, cascading winter waterfalls, and pristine Cape fynbos.
Halfway through the experience, guests warm up with a steaming hot chocolate overlooking the waterfalls, before ending the day beside a crackling fireplace with a freshly brewed cappuccino at basecamp.
Good adventure. Good coffee. Good winter’s day. Great stories waiting to be told.

A healthy dose of cuteness! 🐆
Rosalyn, the female cheetah at Rogge Cloof Private Nature Reserve, gave birth to her first litter in April 2026. Four cheetah cubs were born, and she has proven to be a very attentive mother - something that is not always the case with first-time cheetah mothers. The three-month-old cubs are healthy and playful, staying close to Rosalyn as they explore the reserve.
Rogge Cloof is currently home to four adult cheetahs and four cubs. The adults are Stupendous Man, Spaceman Spiff, Tommy Chestnut, and Rosalyn, the young mother. At this stage, we have not been able to determine the sexes of the cubs, as they cannot yet be approached or handled.
Rogge Cloof works closely with the Cheetah Advisory Group, Ashia, universities, and NGOs to support the reintroduction and research of cheetahs, helping to secure a future for the species in a protected environment.

Adventure met tranquillity as Christopher Venter - Blind Adventurer, Writer, Speaker, Content Creator explored Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, Tietiesbaai and the beach itself with WOW E-Bikes, then unwound at Gonana Collection overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. With its rugged natural beauty, pristine beaches, unforgettable sunsets and laid-back coastal charm, it's easy to see why the West Coast is known as the Best Coast.

Christopher Venter - Blind Adventurer, Writer, Speaker, Content Creator and his family enjoyed a memorable stay at
Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate where warm hospitality, estate-grown wines and the tranquillity of the Winelands created the perfect setting for a winter getaway.
We tumbled joyfully into Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate this afternoon, greeted by Evans at reception with the sort of warmth that makes you feel like a long-lost cousin rather than a guest. The air itself seems to hum with contentment, scented with vines, and though I, as a blind adventurer, cannot see the sweeping views, I can sense the beauty in the careful way every corner seems to glow with care and love.
Our family room is a treasure trove of comforts. Young Tate, aged seven, immediately claimed the top bunk with the zeal of an explorer planting a flag, and is now busily engineering a fort that would put certain medieval castles to shame. Guide dog Sam, ever dignified, has melted into his own plush bed – a veritable throne – surrounded by a scandalous pile of treats that he eyes with the quiet glee of a gourmand.
Meanwhile, Tamlyn has discovered her welcome delight, a little indulgence that she is nibbling at while brewing a cup of coffee. The Grill Room Restaurant, not far from our door, sends out delicious aromas on the late afternoon air, teasing us with the certainty of a dinner feast to come.
If the first hour at Val du Charron is any indication, this weekend will be one of those chapters in family life that you tuck away in your heart, to be dusted off with a smile for years to come.
Looking so forward to spending the next couple of days here indulging in estate grown olives, devouring wine made from the vinyards just meters away and all the time enjoying been cradled by the mountains with the tangle of Bainskloof pass twisting up the hillside not far from us.
We are already blown away and guess what? Winter, is the best time to enjoy a place like this.
