I have worked with pure linen since I was 20. I remember the first time I saw a piece from Isobel and felt so inspired to get more creative with this timeless fabric.
we are so happy to have you and your heirloom pieces!
About Isobel:
STUDIO by Isobel Sippel was born out of a deep love for textiles and a simple desire to create beautiful objects. Each unique hand crafted piece is made with great attention to detail.
We especially love using old world materials that feel like they have a story. There is a certain amount of poetry in working with these fabrics; it is a process of weaving together dreams and memories. This ancient artisanal craft of stitching together cloth to make something durable, but also beautiful, has become an art form labored and loved by many.
As a young girl, Isobel loved spending her days in the local fabric store – and that’s how it all began.
Every aspect of the studio production is done in a homely way - painting and hand dyeing fabric in the kitchen, hours spent doing stitching by hand or sewing done in a studio surrounded by creative people. Not only do we do things close to home, we see our business as a family. Sammy, have been working with her for over two decades. Her daughters, Carla and Gabrielle are also frequently involved in the creative process. A business that started out of a kitchen – sales over a cup of tea – has now traveled to the homes of collectors all over the world.

We are in love with Jade’s other worldly ritual ware. Pieces for the intentional moments of life.
We are so happy to have you Jade 🤎
About Jade:
Through a serene and intuitive connection with clay, Jade creates ceramic objects that embody her admiration for material research, ancient pottery, mythology, the feminine, and rituals. She admires the material and its vibrant hues and embraces the natural, irregular textures of the earthy and wild clays.
In 2016 Jade graduated at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam with her research project ‘Crangon Crangon’. With this project she won the WdKA Research Prize 2016. This is where her passion for ceramics and material began.
After years of pursuing it as a hobby, Jade established Nammu & Clay Atelier, in early 2021 in Cape Town.
Throughout the years, Jade has collaborated with (inter)national private clients, restaurants and farms, creating exclusive table, decor and ritualware for beautiful projects.
Within her little Clay Sanctuary, Jade creates her work alongside a team of wonderful women. And here she shares her space, knowledge, and love for the craft by offering workshops, providing others with the opportunity to delve into the beautiful world of clay.
