Save the date for the Video Trust Summit, October 19, 11am-5pm EST!

Join us for a streamlined version of our annual conference designed to encourage sharing ideas and learning from each other.

This fall we are offering something slightly different from our usual virtual conference because we want to hear from YOU. In order to facilitate dialogue, we will host a series of moderated conversations so that all those in our community can share ideas, build connections, and contribute to shaping the future direction of our organization.

The Video Trust annual virtual conference launches today! Today's lineup includes:

12:15pm ET: a Keynote presentation by Dennis Doros (from Milestone Films), co-founder of the Missing Movies Project

1:15pm ET: Session 1 - Diversity in Media Collections: Voices from Distributors and Librarians. Join Rachel Gordon, author of the Documentary Distribution Toolkit along with a few distributors and media librarians to discuss diversity in media. In light of issues of diversity/inclusion/accessibility, how do distributors explain their process of acquisition, length, steps, deliverables, etc. What are the biggest hurdles distributors face to get diverse content.

3:00pm ET: Booth Time - talk to film distributors about their newest releases and deals

Video Trust is thrilled to announce that the 2022 Video Trust Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Educational Media, designed to recognize media professionals (distributors, producers, content creators or filmmakers, or related publishers) who impact or contribute to the field, will be awarded to Angela R. Davis.

Angela is a Reference and Instruction Librarian at the John M. Lilley Library at Penn State Behrend. She has served as editor of EMRO (Educational Media Reviews Online) since 2019. Her research focuses on how students use library collections, education of future librarians, and library instructional activities.

Video Trust is so pleased to announce that the 2022 Video Trust Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Media Librarianship, designed to recognize librarians or library professionals who impact or contribute to the field, will be awarded to Gisèle Tanasse.

Gisèle is the Film & Media Services Librarian at the University of California, Berkeley and is a Past Chair of the American Library Association's Film & Media Round Table. She administers the popular VideoLib and VideoNews Listservs, currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Academic Libraries Video Trust, and has served on the Kanopy Content Advisory Board.
