Happy Inuit Day!
Hot off the press, the Inuuqatigiit Language Framework. 'This resource will help the centre enrich, develop, and celebrate Inuktitut. It suggests ways in which the language can be nurtured and supported to ultimately strengthen the children's Mother tongue and/or Grandmother's tongue and culture.'

Hot off the press is this fun project we just completed. My client, Mikki from Inuuqatigiit wanted a piece to promote all the programs the organization offers. We'd done a corporate brochure four years ago when the new name and logo were launched but the organization has tripled in size since then. She wanted something simple and for some reason I immediately thought about a 'map/brochure'. A metaphor in a way for navigating the programs but also the now seven locations they inhabit. A celebration of growth even through the challenges of the past three years.
I quickly put together a wee origami-like prototype (see below), photographed it and sent it to her. Immediately she replied she loved and go for it. I so appreciated her leap of faith that this would be something fun and very practical as well. My lovely printer Sherry researched some paper stock which is often used for maps and is tear proof, water proof and lightweight for mailing and shipping purposes.
It was fun to do something different and I so respect and appreciate my wonderful clients who just trust us to do our work.
Qujannamiik ~ Thank you
