During my travels across Japan, a vivid image of a tiger kept recurring in my mind. Each year, or sometimes every other, I make it a point to visit my dad, who whisks me away on exhilarating journeys through Japan’s rich tapestry of temples, museums, and hot springs. On one such journey, I found myself spellbound by the portrayal and symbolism of tigers in Japanese art. These majestic creatures, embodying the yin power of the cosmos, with their wild, piercing eyes and dramatic features, captured my imagination and refused to let go.

When I returned home, the image of the tiger lingered in my dreams, haunting and inspiring me. It sparked a vision that compelled me to create, and as I immersed myself in this creative process, I stumbled upon Peter Levine’s book, “Waking the Tiger,” which delves into somatic therapy and healing. As I read, a deep realization began to unfold within me, like a distant thunder’s quiet rumble. An invigorating energy surged through me, unlocking potentials I had never dreamt of, as if I was stepping into the skin of the tiger itself. Creating this image has given me immense strength, and I hope it awakens a similar strength in others too. ❤️🐯❤️

about a truth that would not be defiled.
By death and demon
dirt and dark
You begged to be transcended above this wasted world.

Upon the night of desert danced
And I dreamed of dreams with skies pregnant with the stars
I scream and rant, wail and howl
With this rich unrestful realm.
A million songs sing so sweet
Upon this plane you’ve deemed so fowl.

I delight in the day that I will die
And my soul will be summoned the sacred spiral.
My flesh will wilt and wile and rot to nurture earth and sky,
For I am an unheavenly creature.
