The Wabash Battalion hosted a leadership panel on 1/24/2026. A big thank you to both Rose-Hulman alumnus U.S. Navy Adm. Rich Correll, commander, U.S. Strategic Command and U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Jo Naumann, command senior enlisted leader, U.S. Strategic Command, for speaking to our cadets. As leaders of a global warfighting command responsible for the nation’s nuclear triad, which deters strategic attack, their insights were invaluable. In this panel, the main topic was leadership and how to adapt into being officers once commissioned.
In addition, we would like to say thank you to Rose-Hulman alumnus; DJ McDaniel, Matt Childs, Kyler Shorter, Rich Franko, and USMA alumnus Brent Smith for sharing your time and insights at our leadership panel. Your perspectives on leadership, growth, and navigating real-world challenges made for an engaging and impactful conversation. We truly appreciate your openness, experience, and willingness to invest in the development of others—it made the session both meaningful and inspiring for everyone who attended.

On November 15th, participants gathered at the University of Southern Indiana (USI) to complete the challenging 18.6-mile Norwegian Foot March, a prestigious international endurance event designed to test physical fitness, mental resilience, and attention to detail. Starting in the early hours, marchers stepped off with rucks weighing the required 25 pounds, navigating a long and demanding route that wound through campus and surrounding areas.
Volunteers and cadre provided route support, safety monitoring, and morale boosts at key checkpoints along the course. Many participants pushed beyond personal limits, with both seasoned marchers and first-timers demonstrating impressive determination.
Those who successfully completed the march within the prescribed time earned the Norwegian Foot March foreign military badge—a significant accomplishment recognized across military communities. The event highlighted discipline, endurance, teamwork, and the strong partnership between USI and ROTC programs that helped make the march possible. Thank you to everyone who attended!
