Cabinet Development Committee visit to Savaii
A big faamalo and faafetai tele lava to all our valuable SABS clients especially Lata Plantation Development, Satuala Development and Coconut Cluster for their tremendous contributions and efforts in making the Cabinet Development Committee visit possible to inspect their respective projects and developments thus far as SABS beneficiaries as well as the various giveaways to our government officials and the Committee members who attended. This is the first newspaper article that was published in June 2019 to showcase SABS project achievements thus far and how has it benefit the agribusiness sector in terms of its project components as briefed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Finance Leasiosiofa'asisina Oscar Malielegaoi before the Cabinet Development Committee
Project are subject to safeguards screening to ensure that any significant environmental and social risks are identified and addressed. Businesses engaged in to***co, alcohol, gambling or in activities with possible negative social or environmental impacts will be ineligible
Expression of Interest
This EOI seeks basic information on the business and the nature of the proposed investment to facilitate the initial screening and assessment process. Its should be completed by the applicant with assistance from SABS is required. It is recommended to discuss the proposed venture with the bank and/or and SABS advisor before submitting the EOI to ensure that all of the necessary information is provided
EOIs can be submitted at any time. All information contained in the EOI is strictly confidential and SABS will not discuss the proposal with third parties without prior consent by the applicant
SABS will engage with any commercially viable and sustainable agribusiness enterprise which meets the eligibility criteria. the support package is tailored to each business and project according to a well-defined business and financing plan. Preference is given to projects which fulfill some or all of the following criteria:
- source raw material from Samoan farmers under outgrower or contract farming arrangements
- span the entire value chain from grower to end user
- add value to primary agricultural produce
- create job opportunities, especially in rural areas
- contribute to exports or import replacement
