Rugby unites us beyond the field.
Lakapi Samoa is honoured to be part of today’s Inter-Agency T1 Rugby Festival in celebration of International Firefighters’ Day 2026. Bringing together our frontline men and women through sport, teamwork, and shared purpose.
Through rugby, we continue to strengthen partnerships, promote wellbeing, and build safer, more connected communities. Today is a celebration of teamwork, discipline, and the shared responsibility we carry both on and off the field.

Day 2 of the NPC Training & Education programme with Team Management ✅
Another productive day of learning, with valuable discussions and shared rugby insights between Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Managers. The focus was on clarifying roles within team management, strengthening collaboration, and building a unified approach across all teams.
Today’s sessions combined both coaching theory and practical application, ensuring participants are better equipped to lead, support, and deliver at a high standard throughout the competition.

National Provincial Championship (NPC)
Commences with GBV 101 training.
In preparation for the National Provincial Championship, today's programme began with GBV 101 training, facilitated by the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development.
Lakapi Samoa will continue delivering trainings to ensure all team management are well equipped to manage and coach NPC teams, with player welfare and safety remaining a priority.

In preparation for the T1 Rugby Festival, led by Lakapi Samoa and Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority, safeguarding training was conducted with the Samoa Airport Authority in partnership with the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development and UN Women.
In line with festival requirements, all participating government ministries are required to complete safeguarding training to uphold player welfare and ensure the event is delivered in a safe and secure environment.

Provincial unions continue to play a key role in driving the growth of rugby across Samoa, with districts investing in their clubs, people, and future.
Lakapi Samoa presented its 2026 Provincial Development Grant to Palauli ma lona Itumalo ma Satupaitea Rugby Union.
The President and representatives acknowledged the support, noting its value in sustaining competitions and strengthening rugby programmes within their respective districts.
The investment will assist in maintaining active clubs and supporting the ongoing development of players, coaches, and administrators at the grassroots level.
Lakapi Samoa remains dedicated to empowering its provincial unions, recognising their importance in building a strong and sustainable future for Samoan rugby.
