Excited to be sharing some new logo work! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Neil on a number of different projects over the past few years. Through working together Neil has transitioned out of the client zone into the friend zone. However, this project took trust! Not only was this a rebrand, but I was tasked with renaming the company to better speak to the nature of the work they provide. V Formation offers mentoring services for leaders in the not-for-profit and charity sector. Built on the belief that a strong and well-equipped leader can guide a vast group. Improving efficiency and collectively use their individual strengths. Many migratory birds use the v formation to travel great distances to arrive at a place where they can thrive. With this direction fuelling the conceptual stage this little icon began to take shape!

These cool October days, have got me feeling that "Autumn Aesthetic” once again. 🍂

The river is a source of endless hours of enjoyment for me and my 3 year old son, watching the ducks, exploring the shores, always on the hunt for the largest rocks we can find to throw-in! Yesterday, as we sat together on the banks, I was struck with the beauty in the decay. Nature graciously giving-in to the changing of the season. Then the clouds opened upon us and we ran screaming back to our house. (sorry, neighbours)

These moments when I let my guard down, is when inspiration hits me square between the eyes. My recipe for inspiration is this; be in nature, get caught in the rain, and spend time with an awesome kid.

Stoked to receive the news that I have been selected as one of the finalists for the UltraBold Awards! The UltraBold Awards celebrate emerging designers who are making an impact on the design community and beyond.

Over the past several years I began looking for opportunities to serve and strengthen the design community in Canada. I have been volunteering my time as a mentor in the RGD’s mentorship program, as well as, serving on the RGD’s Ethics Committee for the past two years. I also got involved in my local college’s graphic design program, where I’ve been a part-time instructor for the past three years. In 2018 I was honored to be asked to be a part of the judging board for Applied Arts Magazines’ Community Design Awards.

I’m full of gratitude to the judging panel and the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) for recognizing not only my efforts but also the efforts and contributions the other finalist are making on the Canadian design community. Congratulations and good luck to all!

It’s that time again, the LogoLounge.com selections have been announced! We’re honoured to be staking our claim among the pages of this fine book series once again.

Seven of our designs will be appearing in the 12 edition of LogoLounge alongside the work of many other incredibly talented designers.

With over 42,000 logos submissions, we'd like to give a big shoutout to all the judges and their hard work!

Some further brand exploration for North Shore Cider Company. Can we say we're loving this palette? Who’s getting thirsty? 🥂

Everyones normal looks a little different right now. We worked up this brand identity concept to fill in some of our spare time and had a lot of fun doing it! We also learned a hell of a lot about the cormorant and some of the symbology that it carries.

We are just a couple days away from the Lunar New Year and welcoming in the Year Of The Rat! 🐀 The Rat is said to be blessed with the gift of intuition, it’s keen ability of perceptiveness allows it to make wise choices when facing decisions.

Last year we created a Kickstarter campaign in honour of the Year Of The Pig, creating enamel pins and limited edition hand-printed posters. With your support, it was a HUGE success and we sold out of pins early in the summer, before we could even get them in our online store! We’re pleased to announce that this year we’ll be producing the Rat as an enamel pin and creating postcard prints of the artworks as well! We’ve also reordered the “Lucky Pig” pins and they will be available for purchase again shortly. Happy Chinese New Year! May it be a year of prosperity and blessings for you!

✨🥂 2020 has arrived! A new year and with it a new decade! Take a moment to reflect on where you’ve come from, but set your sights high for where you’re headed! Happy New Year from Hatch!
