🐾 When she wants attention she wiggles her whole body, take a running start, and lean into a gentle body-slam until she’s had enough scratches! She is an absolutely nut for fetch and has the stamina for long walks and full speed zoomies.

🦴 She does best with an adopter who will keep introductions slow and unhurried and let her set the pace but Gooch is a devoted and playful best friend 💙

🥼Don't let the name fool you! Elliot is a fierce female dog-tor coming in at 5 years old and 50 pounds.

🤪 Elliot is super goofy and loves her people! She'll do just about anything to make you giggle. Her hobbies include laying on her back in the grass, getting belly rubs, and napping at your feet. She has a moderate energy level. She can go on a long walk as long as that's balanced with lots of chill time!

❤️‍🩹 Elliot Reid comes to us from a rural shelter in Texas. She was there for over 2 years waiting for her forever home. She came into the shelter with her litter of 6 puppies who all got adopted before her. It's Elliot's turn!

Named after one of Dominica's boldest birds, Carib Grackle lives up to her name. She's confident, goofy, endlessly entertaining, and somehow manages to be both the life of the party and a total cuddle bug.

At just 1.5 years old and 26 lbs, this Badass is always ready for her next adventure.

Today we celebrate the adoptaversary of a very special Badass alum, Maple Mae fka Morgan Wade from our rescue!

Some words from her adopter, Maggie:

"Two years ago, I took a leap of faith and adopted a heartworm-positive pittie rescue who had been found on the side of the road in Alabama. I was covering a Badass adoption event for CBS New York when i met this little hippo, and I fell in love instantly.

Since then, she’s road tripped with me, beaten heartworm, gotten a complete leg replacement, and moved with me from Brooklyn to Philly. And she’s just always happy just to be by my side.

She’s been one of the few constants in my always changing life, and I don’t know if she’ll ever understand just how much she’s given me. But i know i’ll spend the rest of her life trying to give even a fraction of that love back.

I love you so much, Miss Maple Mae! Happy two years!! 🤍"

Meet adoptable Jaco Parrot 🦜❤

Named after Dominica's rare red-necked amazon parrot, Jaco has something else in common with his namesake: resilience. Just like the island's parrots have weathered hurricane after hurricane, this sweet boy hasn't let a hard start stop him from becoming an incredible dog.

At just 2.5 years old and 35 lbs, Jaco settled into his foster home almost immediately. New house. New city. New routine. No problem.

🐾 Loves other dogs (his favorite pastime is wrestling with his foster sibling)
🧸 Big fan of tug, chew toys, and knowing exactly which toys belong to him
🚶‍♂️ Walking nicely on leash and learning more every day
🤎 Affectionate, intuitive, and happiest hanging out close to his people
