Is creativity genetic? I say yes! The first pic is from back when I made stained glass mosaics. Mom came to visit and made her own. The Illuminated Lotus is on the bottom (mine) and hers is at the top. All of these paintings are hers! She has studied the techniques of Bob Ross for years and these are her favorites. It was great to spend time with her and learn all their stories. It was really fun to teach her what I've learned about iconography. What a beautiful legacy. 😍

Some snaps from where I grew up. My great grandma Viv's Jesus at Gesthemane lithograph, St. Catherine's stained glass windows and church, a gorgeous moth, one of my mom's sculptures, a random crow, a common nine bark flower bunch, pickled beets made with grandma Flo's recipe, and some fluffy bunnies.

The most complex icon so far! 10 figures on a 12x16" board! It took a lot of prayer, patience, and peeper use to complete this one. As always, I learned a lot in the process of writing this icon. miracle

Shared the beach this morning with a Yellow Crowned Night Heron who was still awake from the night before. Gorgeous bird. I made a little sculpture with algae balls and a few other bits of nature that I found on the beach. At the end, I found a very large Grammy shell. I am going off-island soon to visit that side of my family so it's an extra beautiful hello!
