NEMO has been a colossal failure. The glaring ineptitude in its management of this and other disasters can no longer be ignored. What is worse is people have lost confidence in NEMO and are reluctant to make donations to NEMO for obvious reasons. Maybe there are administrative inefficiencies or simply too much political interference. Whatever the problem, it must be urgently remedied. NEMO is a very critical institution and must function more efficiently.

It will be a folly of this administration if it thinks that it can efficiently manage the disaster in the Southern Grenadines without the input and expertise of the best and brightest minds in the Country and abroad as well as representation from the affected people of the Grenadines. A disaster of this magnitude requires a non-partisan and inclusive approach. We need all hands on deck to face this mammoth task ahead. This is not the time to play politics. Too much is at stake
