Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.

God recognizes the importance of good relationships between people (families and stangers). He is telling us that good friends make lives easier for us and they add to value our lives. He knows we cannot make it alone and he will put people in our lives to help us.

"Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into his tent, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as everyone was weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle. When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly. He took a spear and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man’s body and into the woman’s stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped,"

Looking at this passage it does seem pretty heartless what he did' but something jumps out that demands one to look at it in another way and not dismiss it. We are all part of a team in some way or form, whether it be sports teams, organizations, companies, our families or even the relationship we have our self.
And being apart of this "team" demands that we be the best we can be to win. However, the mistakes of one can bring down all. Moreover before we reach to this point we can improve on ourselves by working on our weak points. We must have the same courage and zeal when confront things about ourselves when we are drawing attention to other people's weakness.
Today God isn't telling us to go out and spearing anybody but he is telling us that we must be fair and honest about these things. We are prone to put spotlight on others and then minimize weakness about ourselves. Everyone has weakness and it isn't any less of us to confront them.
There are so many things that compete for our attention and time. Many times we allow these things, little by little, to rob us of time devoted for God. Be careful, don't allow God to be pushed out of your life!
It is very important for us to understand the actions God takes. He makes good decisions inspite of what we have done and what goes on around us, he is that dedicated to us.
1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Many times I'm sure he wants to hold us and shake us to try to get some sense into our heads and our hearts but he doesn't he gives us time. He reminds us that there is always the invitation to stop what we are doing come to him and he will deal with the rest.
Isaiah 1:18 (KJV)
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
