🎥 Hear from Fareeda Nanton, one of the women from the farming community, as she shares her experience and insights from the Hand2Earth Little Bay Coastal Protection Project.

Through the project, a new hiking trail is being developed along Wharf Road and Little Bay in Troumaca, creating a scenic connection between the Vetiver Heritage Site and Little Bay.

In addition to the trail development, participating North Leeward farmers are being trained as tour guides, preparing them to lead engaging agri-heritage tours and share the rich agricultural heritage of their community. 🌱✨

We were delighted to attend the Sea Moss Expo last Friday, May 8, hosted by SVGCF Grantee, SusGren (Grenadines NGO), It was inspiring to see the creativity, innovation and impressive range of sea moss products showcased by sea moss farmers and local business owners from mainland and the Grenadines.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for learning, knowledge sharing and meaningful connection. We look forward to supporting many more initiatives like this that help strengthen the sea moss industry, create sustainable livelihoods and empower communities ✨

Hand2Earth – Environmental Recovery and Historic Preservation of Little Bay Beach 🌿🌊

We joined Vonnie Roudette of Hand2Earth for a closer look at the ongoing work in the Little Bay area and to learn more about the team’s efforts to preserve the rich history of this unique landscape for future generations.

From restoring historic vetiver terraces to protecting critical nesting habitat for leatherback turtles, this initiative is helping to safeguard Little Bay’s natural and cultural heritage while strengthening community resilience through conservation and local stewardship.

Follow along as we continue to highlight community-led conservation efforts across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and share this story to help inspire greater care for our natural and cultural heritage.

This project was funded under our 4th Call for Proposals, in partnership with the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund.
