The progression of Health, Wellness and Energy in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

14/06/2026

Stanley has been giving blood for years, and he keeps coming back. Not because anyone asks him to, but because giving has become part of who he is, and he is reminded that someone, somewhere, may get another chance at life because of it.

A healthy nation depends on a sustainable blood supply. People who return to donate, like Stanley, make that possible.

This World Blood Donor Day, Stanley is encouraging others to consider becoming regular blood donors. The process takes only a short time, but the impact can last a lifetime.

Visit BloodBankVC.org, and make a plan to be a regular blood donor, like Stanley.

I wanted to give blood for a relative, but I thought I couldn't, because I have ink. But I learned that having tattoos does not prevent you from donating blood.

And I learned something else: you don't have to wait for a social media appeal to give blood. You can walk in and donate at any time. So I did. Now I have donated blood for the first time ever!
One donation can help save up to three lives. And you get a free medical while you are there.

Have a look at BloodBankVC.org and see for yourself.

In the Caribbean, most blood donations are one-off donations from family and friends in a moment of need. But a sustainable national health service depends on blood donors who give voluntarily, and who will come back to give again. Without regular voluntary blood donation, the region operates from a place of shortages that challenge quality healthcare delivery.

Today, on World Blood Donor Day, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environmental Health and Energy is excited to launch an innovative blood donation initiative that seeks to change the dynamic.

In three short videos, you will hear from me, and from two of our own donors, on why this matters and how you can take part.

Visit BloodBankVC.org, and if you are eligible, make a plan to be a voluntary blood donor.

I thank all of our past, present and future blood donors.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s create space for men to breathe, talk, heal, and be heard.

Not every struggle is visible. A simple check-in, a listening ear, or a supportive conversation can make a difference.

Men, it’s okay to talk. It’s okay to ask for help. You don’t have to carry it alone.

Travel Caution to Ebola Affected Countries

Following the World Health Organization's (WHO) declaration of the Ebola Outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environmental Health and Energy wishes to advise members of the public to review their travel plans and avoid traveling to or transiting through affected countries.
The Ministry strongly advises nationals and residents to carefully reconsider and, where possible, avoid non-essential travel to countries currently affected by or at increased risk for Ebola Virus Disease transmission.

These include:

1. Democratic Republic of the Congo
2. Uganda
3. Central African Republic
4. Angola
5. Burundi
6. Ethiopia
7. Kenya
8. Rwanda
9. South Sudan
10. Tanzania
11. Zambia
12. Somalia
13. Republic of Congo

Travelers arriving from affected or high-risk countries will be subjected to enhanced screening, quarantine and isolation if needed upon arrival in St Vincent and the Grenadines. Additional measures may be implemented as necessary to protect public health and reduce the risk of importation.

Do you know your Vector Control Officers? 🦟

Do you know what they do and how to identify them when they visit your community?

Our Vector Control Officers play an important role in protecting public health by helping to reduce mosquitoes and other disease-carrying pests, conducting inspections, identifying breeding sites, and providing guidance on prevention measures.

Here’s a short video to help you learn more about their role and how to recognize them when they’re carrying out their duties in your community.

A positive HPV-DNA test is a sign to take action early.

The good news is that treatment options and follow-up care are available right here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Depending on your results, you may be referred for:
• Thermal Ablation
• Colposcopy
• Biopsy (if needed)
• Surgical treatment (if cancer is detected)

Whether you choose to do so privately or using the public healthcare system services are done at MCMH.

Together, we can eliminate cervical cancer in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Most of us are still asleep when they begin their day, but we would certainly notice if they stopped showing up.

A special thank you to our sanitation workers who help keep our city clean every day.

Every piece of litter thrown from a vehicle, every illegal dump site, and every improperly discarded container can create breeding grounds for mosquitoes, rats, and other pests that spread disease.

A cleaner SVG is a healthier SVG. 🇻🇨💚

To all the men out there checking in on your mental health is just as important as providing for your family.

You don’t have to carry every burden alone. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to talk. It’s okay to not be okay.

Strength isn’t about suffering in silence. Strength is knowing when to reach out.

One conversation could change everything.
