Fall rides and happy students. Two of these young ladies earned their way out of the arena this summer, and the third has been riding with me for years. Watching each of them grow has been a real honor.

Teaching kids—showing them kindness, building their confidence, and guiding them on how to create a connection with horses — are some of the best parts of this work.

She was born into my arms twenty four years ago and I lost her 2 weeks ago. I haven’t talked about it much because the loss is too personal. I try in these hard times to practice gratitude and remember how lucky I am. Lucky to have held her for her first breath and her last. To have a horse that when I climbed on her, I knew where every foot would fall. That’s something most will never have and I had it for so long! So, I am lucky. The children who learned so much on her in her later years, they are lucky too. I’ll miss you sweet friend ❤️

All riders end up doing the challenges with only a halter and lead rope to guide the horse. The riders are always amazed, how willing their horses are to do anything without the bit in their mouth. ☺️ Building confidence and trust in horse and rider.
