A native of Pennsylvania, Marissa Tromm is the current general music teacher at Mesquite Elementary in the Crane School District and the flute instructor for Arizona Western College. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mercyhurst University, and Master of Music in Flute Performance from James Madison University, studying with Wendy Kumer, Anna Meyer, and Beth Chandler. Everyone needs a shop cat right? This feline is Jaspurr and is one of two cats here. The loving fur babies are always interrupting my work. In this case I was trying to shim up some keys on a clean, oil, and adjust.

After a few weeks away from my desk for vacation, it's back to work. This time I've got an Altus flute on the desk for a local player. Working on a clean, oil, and adjust for them as they get ready to play for a wedding.

A quick fix for one of my students. The pad fell out of the flute after the screw came loose. Spending the night placing it back in with some new shims.

Just started an overhaul on this Gemeinhardt Flute I found on the Goodwill auction site. It was in pretty rough shape when it arrived with old oil and rust binding up the keys.
While the silver cleaner got a lot of the tarnish off, it still has some imperfections. Follow along to see if this flute can get up and working again.
