5th Annual Día de los Mu***os Celebration Returns to the Colorado River State Historic Park
A vibrant evening of culture, remembrance, and community — Saturday, October 25, 2025
YUMA, Ariz. — The 5th Annual Día de los Mu***os Celebration returns to the Colorado River State Historic Park on Saturday, October 25, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. Presented by the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area (YCNHA) and Chicano Art Collective, this beloved community event honors the traditions of Día de los Mu***os—a day to celebrate life, love, and remembrance through culture, art, and togetherness.
Now in its fifth year, Día de los Mu***os has grown into one of Yuma’s most vibrant cultural celebrations, bringing thousands together to experience the beauty of art and heritage in a setting rich with local history. The event also serves as a fundraiser for both the Colorado River State Historic Park and the Chicano Art Collective, helping to sustain cultural programming, art initiatives, and historic preservation efforts in the Yuma community.
Guests are invited to experience an unforgettable evening filled with music, food, and artistry. The park will come alive with:
• Live entertainment featuring local and regional performers
• Cultural food and retail vendors offering authentic flavors and handcrafted goods
• The spirited Catrina & Catrín Contest

Reclaiming Our Roots 07/21/2025

Many Mexican and Chicano families have lost connection to their Indigenous roots due to colonization, forced assimilation, and displacement. At Chicano Ink Cultural Center, we believe that reconnecting with ancestral identity is not only a personal journey—it is a collective act of healing and empowerment.
We are launching Reclaiming Our Roots, a community-based ancestry program to help individuals research their Indigenous heritage through genealogy, oral history, and tribal education. With your support, we will provide:
– Access to professional genealogy assistance
– Workshops on Mexican civil records and tribal enrollment pathways
– Cultural education on Indigenous languages, traditions, and history
– Scholarships for DNA testing only when paired with documented family trees
– Assistance with building family trees and gathering legal documentation
– Outreach events for reconnecting families and tribal representatives
This fundraiser will help cover costs for research materials, expert consultations, travel to archives, technology, and direct support for low-income families who are ready to reclaim their Indigenous identity.
Your donation helps restore identity, dignity, and belonging for people whose ancestry was erased but whose spirit remains unbroken.
How You Can Help:
– Donate any amount—every dollar brings a family closer to their roots
– Share this fundraiser with your network
– Sponsor a participant in the program
– Volunteer your skills (e.g. translation, genealogy, legal support)
Together, we can rebuild the sacred bridge between the past and present—one family at a time.
Tlazohkamati. Thank you for supporting cultural survival and community healing.
