National Novel Writing Month Thirty days and nights of literary abandon
Okay, football season....well, it's pretty much HERE. Let's pick a book. Anyone have any thoughts? I've recently read The Help, John Grisham's latest The Confession, a chick lit type book by Michael Lee West as well as the most recent Kathy reichs, Donna Andrews, Tess Gerristen, Janet Evanovich and Karin Slaughgter. I also enjoyed The Poison Tree from Erin Kelly; both of John Verdon's mysteries, anything from Tana French and Claire Dewitt and the City of Dead. Whew.

James Patterson made $84 million last year. Last. year. As in one year. He doesn't even write his own books. And they are terrible. Seriously, this is the year. I have got to get on this crime-vampire-romance genre bandwagon and write something. Apparently it doesn't even have to be good (I'm looking at you too $21 million in one Stephanie Meyer).
