💙 June is PTSD Awareness Month 💙
PTSD affects about 6–7% of the general population, but among survivors of domestic violence, rates can range from 30% to 84%. In many studies, survivors experience PTSD at rates that equal or exceed those seen in combat veterans and law enforcement officers.
Domestic violence is not just a safety issue—it is a significant trauma with lasting impacts on survivors' mental and physical well-being.
Below are 3 tips for supporting a survivor with PTSD.
If you or someone you know is experiencing or has experienced domestic violence and is in need of support, please have them reach out, we are here to help support and provide them a community of healing!

The Power of Nurses.
During National Nurses Week, we’re especially grateful to our partners at the YWCA and their Forensic Program Director Andrea and DVNE/SANE Nurse Sandi for sharing their expertise on the dangers of strangulation with us and our partner agencies.
Cardinal Point has some exciting things unfolding for our community that will provide additional supportive services to victims of domestic violence who experience strangulation and victims of sexual assault - so stay tuned!
A powerful takeaway: You can’t consent to something that can kill you.
This training is a vital step in understanding the risks, to support survivors, hold offenders accountable, and supporting our community.
Together, we can raise awareness and ultimately, save more lives.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, or elder abuse reach out to Cardinal Point where we can connect you with vital services.

Tonight, the kids in KEEP put their hearts into choosing the perfect Mother’s Day gift for their moms. With careful hands and big smiles, they picked out an earring and necklace set, because moms deserve a little extra sparkle. ✨
They paired it with a card that says “Mom, you sparkle and shine”, because that’s exactly what they do.💖
Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there! 💐

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
For survivors, mental health is deeply impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and child abuse. Trauma can shape how we think, feel, trust, and heal, often long after the abuse ends.
Survivors may experience anxiety, depression, or PTSD, not because they are “weak,” but because their minds and bodies adapted to survive harm. Recognizing this overlap matters. It reduces stigma, promotes trauma‑informed support, and reminds us that safety, healing, and mental wellness are connected.
You are not alone. Help and hope are available. 💚
