Sariah James 14yrs old

:Has a pretty big case of Bat Drag
Found commonly with young kids or softball players
Characteristic of bat drag is when the back elbow gets ahead of the hips in the swing. The hitter is using there hands to power through the swing instead of there lower half.
This results in hands separating from the body to end up with a longer swing and pushing the ball. (East to West swing)
We started with drills that addressed her sequencing.
Step back drills and back leg launch drills. Help the hitter get into the back hip and ham string. So that when they are ready too fire the first move is coming from there trunk. This allows the hip to have a chance and get in front of that back elbow.
You can see her launch angle and distance got much better in the other videos. Still more work is needed to get done to correct her elbow but this was a great start for her and she was doing great with the adjustment.
This was day one of these exercises and can’t wait to see her continue her development.

Deegan Martinez

-The focus was his scap load
-Hip rotation
-And not dumping his front shoulder while loading
He’s 5’11 and still growing so it’s really important to be patient and understand how his body works!
He was working hard today👏
Stay inside the baseball… great knowledge from Carpenter and how forcing a pull hit started affecting his numbers… hit it where it is and barrel it.
Have a plan when at bat and stick to a zone and stay there.
Marty Grisso working on his Exit Velocity. Making sure his sequencing is consistent.
