Please leave the spa running in cold weather. The spa can't simply be drained. It needs to be winterized with a multi step process to protect it from freeze damage. This customer purchased a home and the previous owner just emptied the spa leaving water in the piping system below. Luckily, only one line got broken, but it could be catastrophic the next time around. Most every hot tub has several operational modes. If not using in the winter, place the spa in economy mode. Salt water systems need maintenance too! There's no getting around maintaining your hot tubs water no matter what system you have. Although salt water allows you to skip the constant chlorination additions to your water, it still needs checked regularly and to much salt in your spa can cause the system to shut down as with this spa. Solution is dilution... Maintain your salt levels folks!

Older Spas with wooden frames that have rotten away.... Junk? Not really... Wooden frames are easily rebuilt such as the one from this Artesian 965L. Easily replaced, and a new lease on life! Honey Spas Swim Spa with major freeze damage: These multiport manifolds were installed by the mfg. to go from the pump and control (which are both elevated off the bottom) to the bottom of the unit which traps water in the manifolds. This is the case with many hot tubs which is the reason you must "winterize" the hot tub if you are going to drain it. The customer needed these replaced, obviously, but I also added a series of risers, each one higher than the next. Now the customer can just open the unions and due to the grade, all the water will drain out.

Air Valve replacement. 2002 Coleman Spa. The seals on these air valves had broken down and were plum worn out making a very irritating and LOUD hissing noise right next to the customers ear. Nothing relaxing about that! After replacing the manifolds and valves with new ones the air is soft, quiet, and smooth once again.

When the temperatures outside get low, keep a closer eye on your Tub. Otherwise , this could be what you'd be paying for. Water loss caused this spa to cease function.
