We had a chance to work on a unique project - turning an old grain bin into a dry bar. While we had to install this wood top temporarily because of time constraints, we will update pictures once the concrete countertop is installed.

Some more indoor projects to consider - adding a basement bathroom, upgrading an existing fireplace and hearth, or adding built in benches at a bay window or mudroom.

Spending more time indoors, winter is a great time to upgrade a bathroom, doors, tile backsplash or finish areas of a basement. New flooring and vanity can refresh a bathroom, new counters and backsplash can update a kitchen.. it doesn't need to be a huge project to make a significant difference.

Porch with enclosed railing and ramp (created for pet safety) leading to a fenced area. Porch framed with pressure treated wood, Trex decking, and black aluminum railing with matching fencing.

With the weather turning significantly colder, exterior masonry work is wrapping up, but the weather is still cooperating for exterior concrete projects, which can be done, safely, as long as daytime weather is above 32 degrees. (Concrete is still wet in all pictures)

These are some current projects, where repairs could be made instead of replacing the whole concrete area. First picture shows a project where damaged section was cut out and poured with new concrete. The second and third picture show a project where grinding out the cracks and filling with a concrete patch was adequate (patch was not completely dry when picture was taken).

In order to stay on budget, we used the manufacturers overruns (these are not seconds, but limited quantities and sizes left over from manufacturing for a very large project) and altered the pattern to allow for the maximum patio square footage. Used retaining wall blocks to create a planter and step with landing.
