Adopt A Boxer Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable organization in the northeast that rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes unwanted and abandoned boxer dogs and their friends. We strive to inform others about the realities of pet ownership, promote neutering, and encourage responsible care. It is our hope that our efforts will enhance the lives of people as well as companion animals. Help us to help boxers.

The problem isn’t the shelters. It’s unsuspecting pet owners. It’s lack of funds to spay/neuter. It’s the rising costs of veterinary care. It’s buying dogs/financing them and not having a plan or money to properly vet them.
The problem starts at home.
BISSELL PET FOUNDATION is trying to help.

Thank you PET FOUNDATION
The Problem Isn't the Shelters. It's Why They Stay Full. - BISSELL Pet Foundation Here is the truth that the animal welfare sector has been slow to say out loud: We will never adopt our way out of this…

Coco Chanel is a 5-year-old sweetheart🩷
When Coco’s owners moved away, they left her behind alone in the yard. She was passed from neighbor to neighbor before finally making her way to rescue. By the time she arrived, Coco was emaciated, covered in fleas, her nails painfully overgrown and encased in f***s. It was clear she had been neglected for far too long.
Coco Chanel is sweet, loving, calm, and incredibly gentle. She enjoys affection, companionship, and simply being near her people.
She is ready for a forever home where she will never be abandoned again. She’s looking for a family who will cherish her, spoil her a little, and show her what true love feels like.
We can’t wait to find her the best home💕

Xena came to rescue from a very underfunded shelter. Moments after our volunteer picked her up she could tell she was in urgent need of veterinary care.
Xena had to have an emergency c-section. No one could tell she was pregnant because she was so emaciated.
Xena loves children, of all ages. She does well with both little and male dogs her size that share her easy going energy.
She is done raising babies and would love a home where she can be a cherished family member.
She is such a good girl 💕

📢 Ready to adopt/foster?
Make the transition a smooth and successful one with these tips on how to decompress a new rescue dog.
1. Forget expectations
2.Take your time
3. Keep calm
4. Give them space
5. Keep on a leash
6. Crate train
7. Slow intros
8. Keep a routine
9. Established positive reinforcement
10. Provide exercise
Decompression is a key step toward ensuring a successful home transition for your new pet. Time spent getting to know your rescue pup will be well worth the love they give you in return.
Your new pet should not be introduced to the current animals in the house without direct supervision. Don’t rush. It can take several days let you new dog get relaxed.
When introductions occur, dogs should be on a leash, and if introducing to cats, the dog should be on a leash.
We recommend all dogs on leash for several weeks in home.
Animals always need to be fed seperately, new pet preferably in crate, in different rooms.
This process can take time, there is not a set period! It can be days, weeks or perhaps even months. Don't rush your new pet, successful transition takes patience! Be committed to, be in it for the dogs.
Rescue is a commitment. Do it for the dogs♥️
Fosters and adopters are always the number 1 need in rescues.
Are you ready?

Look at this fun girl enjoying a ball for the first time! This is Cassie. We welcomed her this weekend. She was surrendered from a puppy mill for being too active.
Cassie is 2.5 and full of boxer energy.
She will do well in a home with an active male friend, fenced yard to zoom in and toys- lots of toys!
Cassie will be vetted and then ready for adoption. She is located in Harrisburg area of Pennsylvania.

Mocha is a sweet, playful 5yo young lady who has lived with young children, even sharing their bed for sleeping time. She is being surrendered due to issues with the other younger female living in her home. She’s crate trained, trained on electric fence, friendly with other dogs, and doesn’t bark when she sees others walking by. Mocha loves car rides and taking a walk – she walks nicely on a leash. She loves her toys and snuggle time. She’s had minimal exposure to cats, but was just curious when she was around one. She’s the perfect addition to a family looking for a playful girl. Mocha is an overall good boxer girl!
