Happy Juneteenth! Today we commemorate June 19, 1865 — the day when news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston Bay, Texas, more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

It’s a time to celebrate freedom, honor the strength and resilience of generations past, and recommit to the pursuit of justice and equality for all.
