Kawandi quilt ornaments are small-scale, hand-stitched textile art pieces made using the traditional quilting methods of the Siddi community in India.

Making a mini-kawandi ornament is a fast, scrap-friendly way to practice this beautiful, rhythmic hand-quilting technique and create a unique one of a kind gift.

All materials provided. $24 per person.

The Winters Heritage House Museum Quilt Show is open today, Saturday, June 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Come explore a beautiful collection of modern and historic quilts created by members of the Winters Heritage House Quilters Group, their grandmothers and great-grandmothers, as well as members of our local community.

The quilt pictured has become a fan favorite for many reasons. Completed in the 1890s, this treasured family heirloom belongs to the family of Laurie Williamson, a member of the WHHM Quilters Group. Visitors are captivated by its remarkable craftsmanship, intricate detailing, and exceptional hand stitching. More than a century later, it remains a beautiful example of the artistry and dedication of the women who created it.

We invite you to stop by, admire these works of art, and discover the stories stitched into every quilt.
