“$350, do we have $400? $400. $450?….” At AOY Art Center’s Monet Mingle, I helped Executive Director Bette Sovinee with the auction of plein air paintings of three local artists, Jessica Barnum, Joe Gyurscak and Christopher Monteiro. AOY Art Center is located on Patterson Farm in Lower Makefield Township.

Every human needs housing. Members of the Bucks County Association of REALTORS and the Suburban REALTORS Alliance, including Realtor and Lower Makefield resident Anne Costello (right) traveled to the Capitol to discuss issues related to housing, including the real estate market, affordability and access.

As Philadelphia prepares to host FIFA World Cup, the FIFA Fan Festival, MLB All-Star Week, and America250PA celebrations, travelers can now access enhanced real-time traffic and transit information through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)’s dedicated event travel page at 511PA.com/PhillyEvents.

The site features live traffic maps, travel times, incident reports, construction updates, traffic cameras, message boards, and SEPTA service information to help visitors plan their trips. PennDOT is also expanding traffic monitoring with additional cameras and message boards throughout the summer event season.

With millions expected to visit the region, drivers should prepare for heavier traffic, changing travel patterns, and increased pedestrian activity. Officials encourage travelers to check conditions before leaving by visiting 511PA.com or using the free 511PA mobile app.

Groundbreaking for the construction of the new Pennsbury High School building. The eighth grade classes of 2026 are projected to be the first to graduate from the new school. The project represents a significant investment in the future of Pennsbury students and the broader community.

Thank you to the Pennsbury School District for inviting me to speak at its Military Commitment Ceremony honoring graduating seniors who have chosen to serve our nation in the United States Armed Forces. Military service represents one of the highest forms of citizenship, requiring courage, selflessness, and a commitment to something greater than oneself. I thank these young men and women for answering that call.

Congratulations on this important milestone, thank you for your willingness to serve, and I wish each of you great success, safety, and fulfillment as you begin this honorable journey.

The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General is reminding residents—especially students and recent graduates—to use caution when reviewing online job opportunities and to watch for potential scams.

Employment scams, particularly fake work-from-home offers, often promise high pay, flexible schedules, or easy income. In many cases, scammers use fraudulent job applications to collect personal or financial information.

Officials note that common warning signs include requests for upfront payment, instructions to handle or reship packages, or offers involving purchasing and reselling goods. In some instances, scammers may send checks that later prove to be fraudulent or request payment through gift cards or cryptocurrency.

Job seekers are encouraged to:
• Research companies and recruiters by searching for reviews or complaints.
• Speak with a trusted friend or family member before accepting an offer.
• Avoid any job that requires payment as part of the hiring process.
• Verify job offers using official company contact information.
• Carefully review email addresses to ensure they match legitimate domains.

Residents are also advised to use reputable job platforms and be cautious of unsolicited job offers.

Anyone who believes they may have encountered a scam is encouraged to report it to the Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection: https://www.attorneygeneral.gov/public-protection-division/bureau-consumer-protection/.

I attended the Ye Olde Yardleyville festivities, sponsored by Gather Place and Yardley Friends Meeting. This immersive historical experience brought Yardley Borough’s 19th-century heritage to life while commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.

The celebration offered a glimpse into life in 19th-century Yardley, highlighting the community’s Quaker heritage, untold African American history, and its important legacy as part of the Underground Railroad. The event showcased the people, stories, and traditions that helped shape the borough and the nation’s history.

I was joined by Rep. Jim Prokopiak to welcome members of Pennsbury Thespian Troupe 830 to the House.

Pennsbury’s troupe is a student-led theater program that had a strong and active year, including participation in the Pennsylvania State Thespian Conference, where students were recognized for excellence in both performance and technical theater. The troupe also continued its tradition of community engagement and service through fundraising efforts and school-based initiatives that supported its programs and activities.

Joining us were faculty advisors Damari Fallacaro and Julia Finkel, along with students Nathan Vereb, Emma Pepe, Andrew Capozzola, Joshua Cahan, Fae Templeton, Jacob Mackinnon and Hayleigh Monachello.

The performing arts play an important role in education by fostering creativity, collaboration, communication and confidence. Programs like Pennsbury Thespian Troupe 830 provide students with opportunities to develop skills that serve them both in the classroom and throughout their lives, while enriching their school and community through the arts.
