I get asked a lot how I got into Pelvic & Womenβs Health.
I took my first Intro Course in 2014 π€―
This week I was asked by a patients what makes me love what I do so much.
I had written this a few years ago as Treko Wellness was in the early Dream stages. It still stands so true.
Empowering Women is My Passion!
I hope if you have had the opportunity to be in my treatment room that Empowered is how you have felt.

{Fitness Journey}

Who has set a Fitness ~ Wait Loss ~ Wellness Goal for the year ?!?

Iβm calling BS if you say NO.
Here are 3 things that βI believeβ are must haves as you start a Fitness Journey.
FOAM roller ~ all the stretching & rolling & mobility.
Yoga Blocks ~ support & modification
Message balls ~ mobility & tissue release
While I know these 3 things wonβt make you stronger, leaner, fitter or have you lose the weight you so desperately want off. They will aid and support your through this journey. As I promise you will feel the soreness & tightness of the workouts you are doing.
Remember itβs about the journey not the destination.
Unless the destination is Aruba ~ Iβm all for that! π€ͺ

{PFPT before Surgery}

This girl is back to work!!!
Hello ππΌ Central Mass ~ if you need a Pelvic Floor/Womenβs Health PT you know where to find me.
I had 2 evals today and both were pre-op & that made me very happy.
I work with an amazing group of surgeons that understand and value the importance of Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy before pelvic surgery.
& Itβs that simple. . . .the GOAL is to....
- Improve Body Awareness
- Educate
- Improve post-op recovery
Yet most surgeons and doctors do not know enough about pelvic floor PT to make it mandatory for most of their patients.
Letβs change that!

Last year at the 10th annual Worcester Womenβs Leadership Conference & asked us to write 5 professional GOALs we wanted to achieve in 5 years.
While the first 4 where easy I was struggling with the last one. . . .so I wrote down βspeak/present at a future Womenβs Leadership Conferenceβ
Careful what you put down on paper & never underestimate your goals.

{National Physical Therapy Month}

I wish I knew the exact reason that pushed me into this profession. . π€ . .here are a few influences:
β’ I wanted to help people & work in the healthcare field, but Med school was out of the question and Nursing was not something I thought I would like.
β’ I wanted to work with Athletes so bad (hence my undergraduate degree in Athletic Training).
Now I have the privilege of working with a different kind of athlete (MOMs).
β’ My cousins (ex)wife was/is a PT and I thought she was the coolest former gymnast & made PT sound like the coolest profession.
β’ My best friend wanted to be a PT so why not look at schools together & why not both be PTs together. (())

Regardless what the reason. . . .even during the most stressful times during PT school I never once questioned my choice for this profession
((ok...ok...there was that one time 3rd block Neuro Anatomy that send me into a mental breakdown....but a few special ladies helped me through that)). (( ))
I love what I do and I would not change it for anything.
Thankful for the flexibility to grow my family.
Grateful for the challenge for continued growth and the opportunity to always learn.
To all my fellow PTs, letβs continue teaching and spreading our knowledge on the importance of movement/function of our bodies.

βBoyβ was September a crazy overwhelming challenging and the most beautiful amazing month ever. Ahhh all that in one. . . π . . . I kid you not.
I canβt remember the last time Iβve done this but I have some new faces on my favorite place on the social and I figured it was time to say hello ππΌ

Just like my personal and professional life it has evolved to what it is today as a place for me to share my love for health, wellness, fitness and self care.
In the last two year I have also committed to clean living and am loving YoungLiving and all the support it has provided my growing family.

{Reality Check}

Besides that rocking chair that you have seen in the last two posts. . . . .this my friends is my next most used place in my house.
Postpartum βself careβ looks very different but itβs so very important mommas (& daddyβs).
Take the time.
Ask for help
&
Be diligent about the healing process.
So often I have mommyβs in my clinic that did not take these first two weeks seriously.
If you just had a baby. . . .the amount of βtraumaβ your body endured is a lot worse then that Rotator Cuff Surgery your uncle head & yet no one is taking it as seriously.
If you have not had a baby βyetβ Ask Away about my favorite products!?!
If you are in the thick of it with me & or have been here before. . . . .What where your favorite products?!?!?
Also. . . . .so Thankful for a master bathroom. . . . .because this is my space.
