Meet Eva Akese, CPA, audit manager at Spinelli CPAs, whose journey into accounting began with a simple yet powerful motivation: to combine her love for math with a career that would make an impact. Growing up in Ghana, Eva saw accounting as a path to opportunity—and today, she uses her expertise to help businesses make informed financial decisions with confidence.

For Eva, Black History Month is a time to recognize progress, resilience and the need for greater representation in accounting. With only 2% of U.S. CPAs being Black, she believes it’s essential to bridge the opportunity gap and encourage more diversity in the profession.

Big announcement! NEW LOCATION for our weekly meetings!

We are so grateful for our time spent at Spinelli CPAs, but the time has come for us to expand into a larger space! Luckily, we've got some connections 😉 so we'll be moving over to The School Yahd in West Boylston, for our weekly meetings moving forward!

A huge thank you again to Spinelli CPA for hosting us since we started Connect Woo as a group of only 8! We are proud to be in a position where we need to expand into a bigger space, but will always remember the good times had with our core group at Spinelli ❤️

Thankful for Abby's House and the work they are doing to help those that society leaves behind. Spinelli CPAs was happy to contribute food to their pantry to help during these cold months.

We’d like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this Thanksgiving extra special for the residents and guests of Abby’s House. Thank you to National Grid and Spinelli CPAs for organizing food drives, The Willows and Herb Chambers Companies for donating turkeys, Country Bank for donating 10 meals for our shelter guests, LAOH for donating a Thanksgiving basket, and AvalonBay Communities for donating the sides used for the Thanksgiving meal served from our Women’s Center. We’d also like to thank the women of Abby’s House for making beautiful center pieces for each table and our wonderful community for your continued compassion and support. Over 90 meals were served during this year’s Thanksgiving celebration thanks to your generosity!
