A celebration of the spirits that linger.

This October, Hunchback Gallery is exploring the ghostly, the supernatural, and the unseen through Spirited Soirée, a month-long group exhibition.

We invite submissions inspired by ghosts, hauntings, apparitions, séances, folklore, ancestral stories, haunted places, and the strange experiences that exist just beyond explanation. Whether your work is eerie, playful, melancholic, beautiful, unsettling, or quietly mysterious, we want to see your interpretation. All visual mediums are welcome.

Some spirits comfort us. Some haunt us. Some become legend. Some refuse to leave.

Submissions are open through September 4. There is no submission fee. All submitted work must be human-created (no AI-generated artwork).

Last week’s opening for This Is A Sign was a nice reminder of why we do this in the first place. It was so rad having a room full of people meandering slowly, pointing things out to each other, laughing unexpectedly, debating pieces, reconnecting with old friends, and spending real time with the work.

The show is back open tonight from 4-8pm and tomorrow from Noon-6pm if you missed it, or just want another pass through it all.

We’ve got a full weekend at Hunchback.

“This Is A Sign” opens Thursday. We’re hosting Outdoor Cats Live on Friday. Saturday is celebrating World Collage Day and there are a bunch of other artists in the building that will have their studios open.

A ton of fun packed into one weekend. It’s a sign to get here. Swing through, hang for a bit, make something, be part of the community.

Calling all artists, creatives, and the collage-curious!! You’re invited to celebrate World Collage Day with us on Saturday, May 9, at Hunchback Gallery.

Drop by the gallery anytime from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM to create your own collages. We’ll provide an impressive array of new and vintage materials to work with, you provide a willingness to make art and have fun.

Finished collages will have the opportunity to be photographed and featured in the upcoming Punkcake World Collage Day Zine, a collective publication celebrating the creativity of and our participation in the day.

While there is no fee, a suggested donation of $5 is appreciated to help support Punkcake Independent Publishing and keep the presses running.

Whether you’re an experienced artist and collager or simply looking for a damn cool way to spend a Saturday afternoon, this event offers an open, welcoming space to experiment, connect with our cool, inclusive community, and celebrate collage as an art form.
