WPI Police presented “Keeping Yourself Safe” during International Orientation for undergraduate and graduate students. Captain Brendan Green and Lieutenant Karen Confer shared important safety awareness tips and resources to help students stay safe both on and off campus.

WPI Police Department Welcomes New LGBTQIA+ Liaison Officer 🏳️🌈
The Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Police Department is proud to introduce Officer Olivia Kephart (she/her) as our new LGBTQIA+ Liaison Officer.
In this role, Officer Kephart will serve as a resource for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and visitors, helping foster open communication, build trust, and strengthen relationships between the WPI Police Department and the campus community. The liaison program provides an approachable point of contact for community members who may have questions, concerns, or simply want to connect with WPI police department.
Officer Kephart is committed to promoting safety, inclusion, and mutual respect across the WPI community. She looks forward to working collaboratively with campus partners and student organizations, participating in campus events, providing educational outreach, and assisting members of the community when needed.

On Thursday, June 4th Ofc. Ga***rd, Sgt Jacobs, and Chief Marsh assisted an injured Hawk outside of East Hall. With the help of Worcester Police Animal Control, the Hawk was transported to a special Raptor rescue in Shrewsbury for treatment.

WPI Police, in collaboration with the Worcester Police Real-Time Crime Center, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, and the Auburn Police Department, utilize drone technology to monitor rooftops around campus prior to commencement. WPI Police will continue to work closely with local and state law enforcement to keep our campus community safe.

The WPI Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family of Trooper Kevin Trainor and to the brothers and sisters of the Massachusetts State Police whose lives were forever changed by this heartbreaking tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
