Worcester Academy
Worcester Academy is an independent, co-ed day and boarding school for grades 6 to 12 and postgrad.
Visit Worcester Academy and you'll find motivated students and exceptional teachers engaged in dynamic, experiential learning. We challenge assumptions and collaborate in search of a greater understanding of our world. Our Middle School utilizes an interdisciplinary curriculum that teaches students how to think critically, logically, and analytically. Our high school curriculum includes over 30 Honors and AP courses, 5 language choices (including Mandarin), 42 arts offerings and a math program that is recognized throughout New England for its rigor. Students gain global perspective through opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and use 21st-century tools, like their 1-to-1 assigned MacBooks, to enhance their learning and self-expression. We've been cultivating academic excellence and shaping leaders since 1834. Visit us to learn more about how we prepare students to "Achieve the Honorable."

One of the best parts of learning at Worcester Academy? The city is part of our classroom!
During Middle School Community Day, sixth graders visited the Worcester Wall of Women, a mural honoring 40 women who helped shape the city, and met artist Sharinna Travieso, who also created the mural in our new Capozzoli Athletic Center. Meanwhile, seventh graders explored the cultures represented at the Worcester Public Market, and eighth graders walked through the city’s rich history, visiting City Hall, Union Station, and the Worcester Public Library.
Art, culture, and history, right on our doorstep!

Friday was Mountain Day at Worcester Academy! Ninth graders, seniors, and postgraduates hiked Mount Wachusett with their advisories, stopped for photos at the summit, and shared lunch at the base lodge. A day on the mountain together is a cherished Hilltopper tradition, one that gives students and advisors time to connect outside the classroom and enjoy the view!

Creativity and kindness filled the art studio this week as The Pillars, our peer health and wellness leaders, hosted Worcester Academy’s sixth annual Zoe’s Rocks event in memory of Zoe Woolfus.
Students painted rocks with colorful designs and encouraging messages, continuing an activity Zoe embraced to spread joy throughout her community. The rocks will now be placed around campus, each offering simple but powerful reminders: You matter. Be happy. You can. You will.
Thank you to The Pillars and everyone who helped carry Zoe’s spirit of kindness forward.
And, thank you to Annie Rhodes '27 for the photos!

The Class of 2030 is already making connections!
Last week, our 9th grade students gathered on the Rader Quad to share where they came from and one hope for their high school experience. As they passed yarn across the circle, they created a web connecting the entire class and showing how their individual stories are now woven into the Worcester Academy community.

A warm welcome to our newest international Hilltoppers!
This year, Worcester Academy welcomed more than 30 new international students representing 11 countries. To celebrate, the Global Student Union hosted an International Student Welcome Fair on the Quad, bringing Middle and Upper School students together for karaoke, ramen, calligraphy, henna, jewelry, raffles, and more.
It was a fun afternoon of sharing traditions, making connections, and getting to know the newest members of our community.
