Join the Worcester Chorus for the world premiere of FREDERICK: A Cantata on the Life of Frederick Douglass — a powerful new work honoring the life, voice, and legacy of Frederick Douglass.

This work is especially meaningful to our community, as it is the final composition of our late chorus member, Brian Story.

Inspired by Nkeiru Okoye’s Songs of Harriet Tubman, Brian’s cantata draws from Frederick Douglass’s own words to tell the story of his extraordinary life through music.

Brian Story was a gifted composer and cherished member of our chorus. This performance honors both Douglass’s legacy and Brian’s lasting impact on our community.
