Original location of the famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Built in 1803 to protect a stretch of the Outer Banks know as the graveyard of the Atlantic. Rebuilt in 1853 as it was deemed ineffective in protecting ships from the deadly diamond shoals. It was moved in 1999 due to beach erosion.

Currently of limits for construction unfortunately.
