To celebrate World Landscape Architecture Month and EarthDesign's 20th year in business, here are some images of a few of our design projects. These include municipal parks, academic campus improvements, outdoor amenity spaces for apartment communities, and other commercial projects.

The City of Worcester just held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Phase II of Mulcahy Field Park, which we designed. This phase includes a new basketball court and playground. (The first phase, comprising a baseball field, was completed in 2021.) The park is an important asset for the residents of this inner-city neighborhood, in addition to students of the nearby middle school. Facilities remaining to be built include a multi-purpose court, a pickleball court, and multi-use field.

Construction was recently completed on the entrance area to Loft 27, apartments housed in a historic mill building, in Lowell, MA. This photo collage includes before (bottom) and after (top) images. EarthDesign was the prime consultant for this design work, which consisted of a wide pedestrian walkway, two patios, raised planters, drainage improvements, and lighting. The new site design solved several problems: 1. delivery and moving trucks blocking the pedestrian entrance (separate loading area created for them); 2. poor drainage (new grading design and storm drainage routing); 3. indirect ADA access (all areas are now accessible, with no steps); and 4. aesthetics (visually appealing design, with materials and colors coordinated with the building, and more planted areas than before).
