Leadership isn’t about best practices or top-down empowerment, it’s about co-creating spaces where people recognize and activate the power they already hold. This workshop invites Worcester’s nonprofit leaders to explore smartest practices that foster belonging, mutual care, and deep reflection across leadership spaces, internally and externally, even intergenerationally. By centering resilience and diverse lived experiences, we can ensure that leadership development is relational, liberatory, and community-rooted.

Together, we’ll examine how leaders can build sustainable, inclusive ecosystems that reflect their values and lived experiences, without forcing prescriptive solutions, so that Worcester continues to grow with the strength of its people and partnerships.

This session will explore current hiring trends within the nonprofit sector, highlight common challenges organizations face in attracting and retaining talent, and provide recommendations to strengthen recruitment strategies. Attendees will gain insights into the evolving nonprofit job market and walk away with actionable approaches to building and sustaining effective teams.

Helen is a driving force in the nonprofit sector, leading efforts to strengthen local organizations through expert consulting, education, and networking. With a deep commitment to equity and community-building, she ensures that Worcester-area nonprofits have the tools and resources they need to make a lasting impact.

Helen’s dedication to fostering collaboration is backed by her strong academic foundation—she holds an MS in Professional Communication and a BA in Communications & Culture with a minor in Women & Gender Studies. Beyond her leadership at ONE Worcester, Helen expresses her creativity as a ceramic artist and enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Join us on April 8th from 4:00-6:00 for the next session of our Burnout and Self Care series, where coach and consultant, Monique Morimoto, MS, CPCC, will guide us in an interactive exploration of how to preserve integrity while navigating stress, change and challenges, in the world and workplace. Through group and personal reflection and discussion, you will learn a framework to understand what integrity means for you and how to apply this to your organization. You’ll explore what supports or destabilizes integrity and engage in discussing real-world scenarios to help you strengthen resilience and decision making in your work.
