Yesterday the world lost one of it’s greatest songwriters. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge Beach Boys fan and I got a couple texts about the news. Brian’s music changed my life. When I was younger I remember summer’s with my friends going to the beach and listening to the classic stuff about cars and surfing. So many good vibes and it actually inspired me to pick up a surf board myself. Then I listened to Pet Sounds for the first time and I was blown away. The fact that a 23 year old heard all that music in his head, wrote for instruments he didn’t know how to play, and made those heavenly angelic harmonies? THAT inspired me to be a better musician. The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mac Demarco, Radiohead and so many others wouldn’t have made the music they made if it wasn’t for him. Brian and The Beach Boys changed the world 🌎 It was a dream of mine to meet him in person, but I consider myself lucky that I got to see him live a few years ago. Now he’s in heaven with his brothers no doubt. Those Good Vibrations are going to go on forever Brian. Thank you for the music 🙏🏻
