Your Eversource or National Grid bill has gone up 65% since 2015. AI data centers are accelerating demand on the same grid you depend on, and Massachusetts has no law requiring those facilities to pay for the grid infrastructure their energy use requires. That cost gets passed to residential customers.

Lowell just enacted the first data center moratorium in Massachusetts history. Everett moved to restrict them before a facility was even proposed. Homeowners across the state are asking what they can actually do about it.

Solar is the most direct answer. You generate your own power, your bill shrinks, and the next rate announcement from Eversource or National Grid matters a lot less.

This is one of the commercial systems we've installed across Massachusetts. They're getting 30% of their system cost back through the federal tax credit.

A lot of business owners assume they'd have to rush an installation to qualify. There's a safe harbor provision that lets you lock in the credit by July 4 and complete the installation on a normal timeline.

Between the 30% federal credit and 100% bonus depreciation, most commercial buildings can recover more than half their system cost through tax benefits alone. For a building paying $2,000 to $3,000 a month to Eversource or National Grid, the math gets pretty compelling pretty fast.

July 4 is the cutoff. If you own a commercial building and you've been sitting on this, it's worth a conversation before that date passes. We've been doing this since 2011 and have 7,500+ installations across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Drop us a message or hit the link in our bio for a free commercial assessment!

Summer utility bills are officially surging in Massachusetts as seasonal heat arrives and air conditioning usage spikes.

While the utility grid gets more expensive, the sun provides an immediate alternative for your roof. Transitioning to solar allows you to lock in fixed costs that your utility company never will. June, July, and August are the highest production months of the year. This is when your panels build up a bank of retail net metering credits to protect your home budget year-round.

Boston Solar has completed over 7,500 local installations across the state since 2011. Our own licensed electricians and structural installation crews handle your project from the first conversation through the final utility sign-off.

Visit us online for an honest, data-backed assessment of your roof's generation potential. No pressure, just real savings for your home.

Take a look at the slides above to see the actual state programs carrying the financial weight. Between the SMART program generation income, 1:1 net metering, and total sales and property tax exemptions, the local math still clean-sweeps utility rate increases.

We have been building these systems since 2011. With over 7,500 local installations completed, we know the municipal permitting systems and utility grids better than any national provider. We use our own dedicated, in-house team for everything from design to final inspection.

When a normal business has a bad year, they cut expenses or absorb the hit to stay competitive. When a utility monopoly has a bad year, they just demand a raise.

The $25-a-month rate hike Connecticut's governor is fighting right now is a perfect example of how our regional grid operates. The utility takes zero market risk, while everyday families carry 100% of it.

We see the exact same pattern here in Massachusetts with constant delivery fee hikes and soaring baseline rates. Expecting a monopoly to suddenly prioritize your wallet over their corporate profit margins is a losing strategy.

You can't force them to change their business model, but you can change how your home gets power. Moving to solar and battery storage lets you stop renting energy on a variable rate and start owning your own power infrastructure.

It’s 96 degrees in Boston today. In May. The all-time record for this date is 90, set in 2017. We’re blowing past it!

Nobody’s thinking about their electric bill right now. But in about three weeks when the June statement hits, two straight days of everyone’s AC running at full blast is going to show up on it.

This is exactly how it goes every year. The spikes are getting earlier and the bills keep climbing. Solar doesn’t make the heat go away, it just means you stop paying the utility every time it shows up.

If you have solar through a company that's closed or closing, swipe through this. We put it together because we keep getting calls from homeowners who have no idea what to do next.

Share it with anyone who might need it.

And if you're in Massachusetts or New Hampshire and want someone local to actually answer the phone, we're at BostonSolar.US. We've been here since 2011 and we're not going anywhere!

A lot of Massachusetts homeowners hold off on solar because they're not sure how long they'll stay in the house. It's one of the most common objections we hear.

Here's what actually happens. If you own the system, it transfers with the home and typically increases resale value. If you're on a PPA or lease, we handle the transfer process directly. Buyers in Massachusetts understand what a locked-in energy rate means when they're looking at their first utility bill.

We've walked plenty of sellers and buyers through it, it's easy! Visit us online at bostonsolar.us to get started.
