Adventure skiing last week in Alaska’s Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Each day we set off with an open-minded definition of fun, and each day we are rewarded. Exploring new zones, new point-to-point tours, new peaks, and new mega-descents. With the arctic temps relegated to the morning hours, it’s starting to feel like spring at Tebay.

Tebay Lodge is open for business ✨ A cold AF and beautiful AF week-one with blue-hued ice-crystal-suspended atmospheric clarity. Thanks to the Methow crew for opening our season. New peaks, new valleys, a wolverine sighting, and one morning waking up to -32F! Especially cool to have our longtime Chile Volcanoes outfitter join us here in Alaska.
You might not think you want to go spring skiing in October. But you do. The novelty of summer will have worn off by August and you’ll be thinking about snow again.

🖼️ This photo is from the window of a sunglasses shop in Chamonix. was wandering around town and these stylie shades caught his eye. His daughter (6-years-old at the time) insisted he get the white ones and the rest is history. Now our guide team is fully hooked!

The Premise: Hokkaido is a magical place, but it’s also a happening place and finding untracked solitude is not quite as easy as it used to be. Last winter guides and set off on a scouting trip to explore unknown terrain, off the beaten path.
With as much emphasis on nature as the skiing itself, The Periphery: Searching the Outer Edges deviates from your typical “Japow” content. The wilderness that is the Hokkaido backcountry, captured in a hypnotic cadence, and two guides in matching blue jackets.
