5:00 am wake up Sunday prior to the start of the Wahkiacus Gran Fondo. Did a bit of recon staking out great photo spots and was stopped in my tracks by this sweet moonset over Goldendale!

When the pavement ends…..the fun begins!

Epic colors covered the hills as gravel riders tackled the hills out of Goldendale in this year’s edition of Wahkiacus Gravel Premier. 88 miles and 8000’ of vert in mid ‘80’s heat was not for the faint of heart!

Once again the weather gods delivered a perfect day for the annual Methow Trails Sunflower Marathon!
Wildflowers were in full bloom as runners blazed their way through the final leg of the course before the epic descent into Twisp.

Our Methow dark skies came out last night to celebrate week. A few wispy clouds added some amazing texture to the backdrop!

Decided to get high and find some winter. Not a single soul around as I pedaled up highway 20 on freshly plowed pavement thanks to the folks at . They made fast work and are only a mile shy of the hairpin.
For you highway pedalers…..go get some!

The skies opened up to welcome in the spring equinox!
Just after sundown Friday night the northern sky started its oh-so-familiar glow signaling another Aurora event here in the .
A shot I have always wanted to capture was to get above .washington and catch the glow below with the glow above!
And then this morning my 3:00 am wake up was met with the glow once again. Stay in bed? Nope!
Out the door into the yard for another round.
Welcome spring!

A different view this year with bare hills and warm temps, but the enthusiasm was still hot! Record balloon-chasing crowds enveloped the valley searching for the best views.
