The Winter Park Library brings you a dynamic view of Juneteenth as we engage in conversation with Dr. Rebekah McCloud and Florida historian and psychologist Dr. Marvin Dunn (virtual), as they discuss Dr. Dunn's book, 'A History of Florida Through Black Eyes'.

Following that, Dr. David Ponton, Director of African and African American Studies at Rollins College, presents Juneteenth: Pride, Freedom, and Love, inviting us to think critically about the distinction between emancipation (which Juneteenth memorializes) and freedom (which we still yearn for) as the reason Juneteenth matters.
