Thanksgiving hunting never disappoints, unlike my pumpkin pie this year. What a tragic end to an otherwise perfect day.

Sometimes…

It’s crazy the peace that can come after making a tough decision. I had a struggle on my hands for months. Something I had been so excited about had turned into the very thing that was weighing me down, stealing my joy and swallowing my energy. Why? How had I let this happen? And what was my course to be now? All my hopes and goals for opening a second location in San Clemente were so carefully weighed and scrutinized, and yet, here I was looking a tough decision square in the face, knowing that what I needed to do was not what I wanted to do. Through the tears, reason and understanding made their way to me as I began making arrangements to close my second storefront. I’ve said before that growth can be painful and lessons learned may be riddled with discomfort. In fact, it’s safe to say that I’m about sick of being honed and refined by life’s lessons. But I don’t get to choose when those stop without also choosing to be stagnant. And that is no way to live. While I am still mourning and processing this loss, I feel peace. I feel happy and light and content, knowing that my choice, though so very difficult, was the right one. As the saying goes, less is indeed more for me. So what can I say now? Thank you for rooting for me and cheering on through this discovery.
