Punishers LEMC - Nodoroc Chapter

This is the official public information page for the Nodoroc Chapter of the Punishers LEMC. The term "Nodoroc" is a Creek Indian word used to describe the area.

The Punishers LEMC is a Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club whose members consist of Law Enforcement professionals, Firefighters, EMS, Military and a select few like-minded individuals. The Nodoroc Chapter of the Punishers LEMC consists of club members who are local to the area where the mysterious Nodoroc site is located. "Nodoroc" is the name given to an actual geographical anomality located in Wind

er, Georgia, and is in close proximity to the chapters Original 7 members. There is significant history, folklore and local legends surrounding the site. Over time, knowledge of the site had faded and the actual site itself is located on private land. Long before settlers came to America and arrived in the area, the area was inhabited by the Creek Indian Tribe. In actuality, it's an odd, natural boggy pond and mud volcano that when active, released a constant bluish smoke while bubbling. At this time it is dormant, and has been for decades. The last known eruption was in the very early 1800's and was documented by settlers in the area. There is a similar site that is active at this time and is located in Yellowstone National Park. The Nodoroc site held significant religious meaning to the Creek Indians. They built an altar of heavy stones on the edge of the volcano and the practiced religious rituals at the site. The Creek Indians firmly believed the volcano and the surrounding area was protected by a creature they called the "Wog". The Wog was described as a fearful devil dog creature with red eyes and the head of a bear. It had long, black hair and was the size of a small horse. It is a fearsome creature with a large torso and commanding front legs. It is said it protects Nodoroc to this day. The Creek Indians built an altar of heavy stones on the edge of Nodoroc, and practiced religious rituals at the site. Despite the religious importance of the site, the Creek Indians eventually sold the land containing Nodoroc to the English settlers. The stones often cited as being a part of the altar were stolen and relocated to Lexington, Georgia by former Georgia Governor George R. Gilmer. The stones were used in the construction of the foundation for his mansion. A portion of the stones remain there to this day, while others were returned to Barrow and Jackson Counties. Today the Nodoroc Chapter of the Punishers LEMC hosted a benefit ride for the Northeast Georgia Homeless Veteran's Shelter. It was a successful ride from Winder to Camp Currahee in Taccoa. Norodoc was able to raise much needed supplies and monetary donations for the veterans who are in need of services. Special thanks to our brothers Fresh and Brick from the Citadel Knights chapter of the Punishers LEMC in Florida for riding all the way to north Georgia to attend our event. Also, a special thanks to the Nam Nights, Patriots RC, Heaven's Saints Motorcycle Ministries and many others who came out to support this event.

Please join us on our ride to benefit the local Homeless Veterans Center.. Saturday, November 8th at 9:00 AM. The ride starts at Hero's Pizza & Pub located at 243 North Broad Street, Winder Georgia. The ride goes from Hero's to Currahee Mountain in Taccoa. In lieu of an entry fee, we are asking for donations to the Veterans Center. They are in need of items such as 55 Gallon trash bags, paper plates, plastic cutlery, paper towels, toilet paper, etc,

The Nodoroc Chapter had an amazing day today. Today, several met for breakfast, including some Brothers that weren't able to go in the ride that was planned. We rode in the rain ( ) to support an officer who has been diagnosed with cancer. We then visited MTN MAN from the Norse chapter who is in the hospital. Since we primarily ride Harleys, some parking lot repairs had to be completed in the the parking lot so the ride could continue (no brother left behind). Through it all we still made it the Norse event and hung out with Punishers from South Carolina and Alabama.
