Tammy has been a powerful force in the fight against HIV and AIDS for many years. As a Prevention/Intervention Specialist and a long‑standing advocate, she has dedicated her life to education, awareness, and breaking down stigma — especially in rural communities and among African American women. Her work has helped transform lives, strengthen families, and bring vital resources to people who need them most.

Through Rural Women in Action, founded in 2014, Tammy has led an organization committed to serving rural communities through education, empowerment, and awareness. Their mission is to transform and enhance the lives of individuals and families — a mission that aligns beautifully with the values of Colgay Pride and the Deborah Smith Wellness Center.

Tammy is also connected with AHF, which stands for AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the world’s largest nonprofit HIV/AIDS healthcare provider. Her involvement with AHF further demonstrates her commitment to testing, treatment, linkage to care, and community support.

For years, Tammy has been a dear friend to the Deborah Smith Wellness Center and Colgay Pride. Every year, she joins us at the Positive Living Conference in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where more than 500 people living with HIV and AIDS gather to learn, grow, and support one another. Tammy’s presence, compassion, and leadership have helped countless individuals find hope, healing, and a better way forward.

She is a true diva in the world of HIV advocacy — bold, brilliant, and unafraid to stand up for those who need a voice. Her dedication to testing, education, and love has saved lives. Truly, thousands of lives.
