It's been awhile since I have written anything but this morning I decided to write and share...Enjoy! 😌🫶

I've gathered the broken pieces of my name
from rooms where silence echoed louder than my screams.

I've worn survival like borrowed armor,
heavy enough to keep me standing,
yet too heavy to let me dance.

There are still days
when my reflection looks like a stranger,
stitched together with old wounds
and stories I never chose.

The healing arrived so quietly. Not as thunder,
not as some kind of miracle,
but as a whisper that simply said,
"Stay."
So I did.

I stayed through the tears,
through the trembling,
through the seasons that taught my heart
it was never meant to bloom overnight.

Now I carry my battle scars
like constellations throughout my spirit and across my skin.

They no longer tell the story
of what tried to destroy me. They tell the story
of everything that could not and never will.

Today I choose myself because I've fought to long to become her and no one can hurt me more than the horrors of the past.

Not because I am flawless, I am not nor pretend to be,
but because I am worthy of a life full of mystical love and magical mayhem!

I no longer wait
for someone else to call me beautiful, I know I am. My heart still thrives on compassion for humanity and innocent humility.

I have become the home
I searched for in everyone else. Every morning I rise,
not untouched by the past,
but transformed by it.

This is what survival becomes
when it learns to love itself and no one can attack your healed wounds.

I've become.
Whole.
Free.
Finally, me.
