COVID has put a strain on our ICUs and our staff. They are not treating statistics. A nurse on the front line shares:

“What I wish you knew, or what I wish the community could see, is the harsh reality of unvaccinated COVID-19 cases:

Our patients are so tired and unable to breathe. I see the fear in their eyes as they realize COVID is real; it is not a joke.

I feel their true fear and pain as they stare into my soul and grasp my hand. Sometimes they must be intubated, sedated, fixed to the bed and proned. Lines are set up so that they can receive medication and nutrition. We know as nurses that we will not be able to save everyone no matter how hard we try. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗗-𝟭𝟵 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀.

What I wish you could see are the CODES, the FEAR, the SADNESS the TEARS, the HURT, the PAIN that this disease has caused. I cannot tell you the toll this is taking on nurses’ minds and souls. We signed up to SAVE lives - not for this.

Why wait until you are gasping for breath, relying on medicine to save you? You could get vaccinated now and prevent severe illness and hospitalization. I’m asking you to save yourself and help us end this.”

Summer fun, skipping rocks.

To say I’ve been slacking on keeping up with social media - is an understatement. (My apologies). So, here is a photo from one of my fun winter sessions that I got to shoot a couple of months ago. Just 3 more weeks left until spring....❄️🌷

I find family/group photography to be such a wonderful challenge. As a photographer I am trying to get my camera set up, figure out lighting, & trying to capture a truly organic moment that reflects the relationship of the subjects and captures everyone of them favorably and in tune with the moment. Getting all of those variables to line up = a great capture. While I’m not in love with the lighting or exposure of this photo - it captures such a beautiful moment. Big brother is constantly moving and cooperating for a camera does not play into his priorities.

Exploring new places often has a way of reviving the soul and in my case often inspires & feeds my creativity. I haven’t had much of a social media presence as of late while I’ve been taking time to work through my creative goals & processes. I am working on some projects and plan on releasing some session dates very soon - so be on the look out! ❤️
