Today, we just want to pause and say thank you.
To every nonprofit working hard, often quietly, every single day to make a difference in our community.
To the faith community offering support and belonging.
To the educators opening doors to opportunity.
To the arts organizations bringing creativity and connection.
To the animal groups showing compassion in action.
To the service organizations meeting critical needs.
To those creating safe, stable housing and pathways forward.
You may serve in different ways, but the heart behind the work is the same.
Stronger families. Stronger communities. A better future.
We see you. We appreciate you. And we're proud to be part of this community alongside you.

Home Maintenance Tip for This Heat Wave: Check Your AC Filters!
With these very hot days we’re having, the cooling system in your home, central HVAC, portable units, mini split units, and window units, is working overtime. One simple step can make a huge difference: check and clean or replace your filters!
Why is it extra important right now:
• Keeps cool air flowing properly during extreme heat
• Helps prevent breakdowns when you need your AC most
• Improves efficiency (and can help lower those energy bills)
• Keeps indoor air cleaner while your home stays closed up

Quick reminder: During heavy use, filters in ALL units should be checked at least monthly, sometimes more often if they look dirty.

Need Help Staying Cool?
If you or someone you know doesn’t have access to air conditioning, assistance may be available through your local Department of Social Services cooling programs. These programs may offer help with fans, window units, or energy costs during extreme heat. Contact your local DSS office or visit your state website to learn more or share this info with someone who might need it.

Stronger Homes. Stronger Communities.
When the summer heat rises, a home becomes more than shelter, it becomes protection. No one should have to worry about staying safe in their own home.
That’s what stable housing provides: peace of mind.

What does “feeling safe at home” mean to you?

Making a Difference, One Home at a Time!
We’re proud to share the completion of another roof replacement, this one especially meaningful as part of our Home Repair Program serving seniors and veterans in our community. Ensuring safe, secure housing for those who need it most is what this work is all about.
It’s moments like this that remind us how powerful it is when we all come together to make a difference.
A huge thank you to Eric Bradley and his team at NVB Contracting for being such an amazing partner on this project. Their craftsmanship, professionalism, and commitment to quality helped make this repair possible, and made a real impact in a homeowner’s life.
Together, we’re building stronger, safer communities.

This project was about so much more than construction. It was about honoring Sherman Ball and the history and legacy rooted in this space, respecting the hard work that came before us, and carrying forward the spirit of service. Every step of this transformation reflects a shared commitment to dignity, care, and opportunity.
Thank you, Preservation of Historic Wi******er, for your investment, your trust, and your dedication to strengthening our community. We are proud to stand alongside you in this work and to help ensure this small building makes a lasting impact for years to come.
