After 3 years with the Wi******er Design Studio, we are both excited and sad to announce that our project coordinator, Cameron, is leaving us to be the Executive Director of Wi******er First. In this new position, Cameron will be able to focus her talents to rebuild the program to support downtown Wi******er. While she will be missed, here are some of our favorite moments from the last 3 years.

Happy New Year! We have had a busy year at the Wi******er Design studio. From seven summer interns, five communities we worked in, several placemaking projects, multiple youth-led installations, a new team member, and a massive Halloween event, we are so excited for what the new year holds. Make sure to watch our social media to see what is happening with the Community Design program; we might be in a community near you!

The Building Prosperity for Rural Communities Summer Fellowship is now accepting applications for summer 2023! Check out these photos from last years students work.

Students across design and agriculture disciplines will work together in Western Kentucky communities to support efforts to engage and develop rebuilding and sustainability plans with community members. There is also a two week travel experience to Glasgow, Scotland.

Breaking News! The Main Street bench project is officially installed and open for sitting! Take a stroll down the high side and check out the bench, designed and built by graduate !

In Spring 2020, Landscape Architecture Student Nick Ackerman design and built this bench as part of his senior thesis project. The bench was apart of a design for downtown amenities on the High Side of Main Street in Wi******er. Shortly after, all in person gatherings were discouraged and the bench lived in the studio. Now that events are happening downtown we are working with Main Street Wi******er and City of Wi******er, KY to move it outside! First it needed a new coat of paint and some plants. Watch for it’s final installation in the next couple weeks!
