Quest: A journey toward a specific mission or goal.
The Mission: To celebrate our fellow indie bookshops!
This week in we're shining our indie bookshop spotlight on Pecantown Books and Brews in our hometown of Seguin, Texas! They're fairly new to the scene so it was super fun to see the bookshop buzzing with activity! In addition to the wide variety of literary genres they carry, they've also got great eats, drinks, author events and live music, and lovely sitting areas, both inside and outside, to make your visit most delightful!
Check out their website for more info and follow them on social media!

A friend recently sent me this image and quote by Sylvia Plath, which she saw in a bookstore in Oxford, England. It took me back to my early forties when I first dreamed of writing fiction. For years I played it safe, unable to find enough belief in myself to attempt my first novel. Iβd been writing nonfiction for years, but I was hesitant to put myself out there in a completely new way. My small tipping point came one morning when I woke up and understood in a place inside deeper than my head that my longing to write the novel mattered more than my self-doubts.
I took a deep breath and began, and whenever the self-doubts came, I would return to my longing, which is where I found, and continue to find, what Plath called βthe ongoing gutsβ to keep writing.
Sometimes listening to our longing will teach us everything.
